Designed by T. William Shaw, this is one of the most popular Pearson designs built and simply one of the most popular boats of her size of the day and had a very, unusually long production run.  Many are still sailing today because of their top-notch construction and sturdy build. They are very good sailing vessels and this particular model is often referred to as the “one-design” and had a great run in club racing.  Another model, referred to as the Pearson W (for weekender), had a longer cockpit and shorter coach roof.  The interior of the original is roomy with more headroom.  She’s a fin keel with inboard spade rudder (very maneuverable) and the rig is a masthead sloop. The interior is traditional with a double forepeak berth for two, a main salon with a convertible 6’ dinette to port and a 7’ settee berth to starboard.  There is storage below all berths, plus a hanging locker and seat lockers in the cockpit. The head and vanity is between the two cabins and includes privacy.  The galley is stretched across the back end of the main salon.  Easy to sail (even single-handed) and a delight to sail. This boat was once outfitted for racing so there is hardware to suit.
