This vessel is a labor of love constructed of Douglas Fir  strip planking from Port Townsend WA over 2”x3” white oak frames. The epoxy glued planking is 1-1/2” at the ends and 1’3/4” mid-ships with stop water dowel rods at rabbit joints under all planking. Her keel is lead secured to the white oak keel timber (25’ L x 6” T x 20” W) with ¾” bronze rods with J-hooks from 5-1/2” to 12-3/4”. Flooring is 2”x10” white oak with 2” angle iron under the fresh water tanks. Deck beams are held in place with shear clamps and knees with backing blocks under ½” x 2” bronze chain plates. The deck is made of 4 laminated white oak strips 7/8” thick.  There’s a 2”x2-1/2” rub rail.  Bulkheads are made of ¾” plywood.  Deck and cabin sides are 1-1/4” thick.  The rudder is 2-3/4” thick at the leading edge and tapers to 1” thick at the trailing edge with 5/8” bolts running through the center of the oak wood.  All furniture and cabinets are made from cherry wood.  Railing is made from 1” SS tube. Deck hatches are wood and Lexan.  There is a center cockpit with curved helm seat aft. The original rig is off of a John Alden designed boat and are made of Sitka spruce.  The mast is 57’9” long, with a 43’ mizzen mast and 16’ boom. There is a drop leaf table with storage sides of ½” white oak and 1-1/2” corner post for strength which adds beauty to the cabin.  The port side has a settee berth and to starboard of the table are two swivel comfort chairs with arm rests. The main cabin sleeps 4 with a double and single over the top and a pipe berth on the starboard side. The aft cabin has a head and two double bunks, two handing lockers w/two drawers.  You can exit the aft cabin via a ladder through a hatch to not disturb those sleeping in the main salon. The aft cabin woodwork is Colorado Blue Spruce. The forward cabin has two single berths that are high for great storage beneath. A seating area lies between the single berths which double as a step to the beds. Under the hatch there is full standing headroom. The head bulkheads are ¾” cherry wood. The vanity countertop and drawers are white oak and the drawer fronts are cherry. There is a Y valve for overboard discharge in approved areas.  The galley double sinks are deep stainless. The ice box is stainless with a drain and 4” of insulation all around including the lid. The owner/builder of this boat has aged beyond the ability to sail her anymore.
