J99

Introduced in 2018 when first under development, the J/99 was designed to be a short-handed , crew-friendly, offshore-capable speedster. At 32'9", the J/99 offers J/111 headroom and comfortable interior accommodations surrounded by a sport boat with great responsiveness. Inside she features twin aft cabins with privacy doors, port and starboard full-length settees, a forward facing nav station, and L-shaped galley and private forward head with sail locker. 8 sailors can sleep with two in each aft cabin and in the settees.  The forepeak, because of length is used for sail stowage and the head.

 

The sail and deck plan are optimized for easy handling with fewer crew, stealing the latest developments of the J/121 and J/112E. 

 

Demand for a short-handed speedster between the J/88 and J/111 suitable for high speed reaching - preferred for offshore, open course racing.

 

She is driven with the standard tiller and single rudder. A T-shaped cockpit will accomodate a wheel option.

 

The spar is a double-spreader, keel-stepped, black anodized tappered rig delivering the best performance and rating value. The base of the mast is adjustable and is stepped with a pre-formed mast collar wedge and water dam above deck.

 

The sprit is fixed and not retractable like many of the other J/Sport boats. This eliminates any water intrusion issues and is easily removable. This sprit arrangement keeps weight forward at a minimum.
