The 26D refers to a daggerboard keel that raises straight up and down. With a 6’4” draft, the boat can point incredibly well. Her displacement is light, but she’s very stable in the water with her water ballast tanks full. With the keel fully retracted the boat is a breeze to launch or retrieve and she can easily be beached as well. The MacGregor 26D makes for excellent exploring different bodies of waters, or for weekend getaways. The owners claimed she is easy to sail, fast and maintenance is very low. This is a no fuss boat that is easy to deal with and the owners have kept her in extremely good condition.
