Designed by Jean Berret in LaRochelle, France, their extensive design team has built over 10,000 yachts sailing world-wide.  Today they are working on concentrating on Mega Yachts and their vast knowledge keeps them on the cutting edge of yacht and yacht equipment technology.  Montebeleau was built in France and sailed across the ocean when she was new, but has been a fresh water boat ever since and she looks like a fresh water vessel with continual upgrades to equipment to keep it a safe and comfortable boat.  She has an interior with 6’5” headroom.  The forward cabin has a double berth with standing room for changing.  Just aft is a large head and shower on the port side with a large hanging locker to starboard.  In the main salon there is a U-shaped dinette to port and a settee to starboard with a center mounted table with drop leafs that reach the starboard berth so all on board can eat, yet with the starboard leaf dropped, one can easily pass by to gain access to the head or forward cabin.  Aft of the dinette is an L-shaped galley and across lies the navigation station, with table and dedicated seat. Access to the aft, port and starboard quarter berths are through solid doors to large berths which rounds out the total sleeping capacity for six sailors. This boat was designed with two heads, but head #2 between the two quarter berths has been made into a storage area.  The holding tank is still in place and conversion back to a head is easily accomplished with the addition of a new commode.  Her lines reveal a pretty sheer with reversed transom with removable panels which reveal a nice swim platform.  The companionway has self-stowing boards that slide under the seahood. The deck is very wide with inboard genoa tracks and shrouds which make walking from the cockpit to the bow rail safe and easy. The cockpit is T-shaped to accommodate the 44” wheel. There are 7 opening ports and 3 deck hatches and an anchor locker forward.  This is a very nice and fast sailing vessel in good condition and will be enjoyed by many in the years to come. PHRF 105 – 2nd in class in Trans Superior & 1st in Grand Marais.
